Art Therapy In Namibia |
Creative Arts Therapists Cheryl Walpole & christi meyer volunteered at an environmental educational camp in the Namib desert, called NaDEET. They provided art therapy to the campers who range in age and economic status. We left the camp with the resources to not only enrich their culture, but with the ability to achieve self-expression through art.

Four 10 hour days and extreme temperatures did not keep us from finishing the mural! Dedicated to solar cooking, this mural not only brings more color to the desert, it educates tourists about the uses of solar energies! Cheryl and I have adopted these new cooking techniques to make rice, bread, squash, and noodles! I never knew I was such a good cook until coming here. Everyone should be happy to hear that we are successfully adapting to our new way of life in the desert.
