Art Therapy In Namibia |
Creative Arts Therapists Cheryl Walpole & christi meyer volunteered at an environmental educational camp in the Namib desert, called NaDEET. They provided art therapy to the campers who range in age and economic status. We left the camp with the resources to not only enrich their culture, but with the ability to achieve self-expression through art. for further information please feel free to contact either of us at our email: cheryl@arttherapynewyorktonamibia.com arttherapynewyorktonamibia.com |
After a 20-hour bus ride and a good nights sleep, Christi and I awoke all refreshed and ready to climb Table Mountain, Cape Town, South Africa. It was a quiet Sunday morning in Cape Town where we prided ourselves on our great ability to rise with the sun, a habit we picked up in the Namib I suppose. Having climbed a couple of pretty big dunes in the past couple of weeks, we looked at this mountain as just another climb. Approximately one hour and thirty minutes later we found ourselves on top overlooking The Mother City and all it’s magnificent views. We considered ourselves quite lucky to have such a spectacular view as the “tablecloth” cloud that is known to cover the mountain quite often held out until we started our decent down the mountain. Table Mountain has a cable car that is available to visitors that do not want to climb but we wouldn’t have had it any other way. Again, touched by the land, neither words nor photographs can properly describe its beauty.
Ps…no jokes about the pigtails……
